Benefit Cost Analysis Proposed Increase in the Pig Marketing Levy (2011)

Consistent with Levies Revenue Service, Levy Principles and Guidelines an independent benefit cost analysis of the proposed increase to the pig industry Marketing (‘non-R&D’) levy was completed. The benefit cost analysis was delivered using techniques described in the Council of Rural Research and Development Corporation, Evaluation Guidelines. Data to inform the analysis was sourced from ABARES and Australian Pork Limited. Separate benefit cost analyses were prepared for marketing (promotion) and strategic policy development – two key services funded with Marketing levy receipts. The analysis was completed by Michael Clarke.
