Domestic and Export Market Access and Appraisal, Australian Fresh Vegetables (2013)

The project provided market appraisal and strategy to assist the Australian vegetable industry to open new domestic and export markets and make existing markets more viable. The project prioritised export market opportunities for leviable vegetable products; identified key impediments in both Australia and in priority export markets; prepared a trade improvement plan; explored the potential for an export / import agent accreditation program; and documented and communicated relevant trade information to vegetable growers. A key facet of this project’s success was the early and comprehensive engagement of levy paying vegetable growers to ensure the study was relevant to their needs. The project was completed for Horticulture Innovation Australia by John Baker, Mike Titley and Michael Clarke.
