Economic Evaluation of Policy Options – Bio-certification (2010)

Economic analysis of three policy options to facilitate development of greenfield sites in Western Sydney was completed. Options included traditional Development Applications; use of current biodiversity certification (‘bio-certification’) provisions under Part 7 of the NSW Threatened Species Conservation Act 1995; and use of strengthened biodiversity certification provisions. Analysis included economic, environmental and social costs and benefits to public and private stakeholders. Analysis completed by Michael Clarke and Dr Rob Gillespie.
